本稿は、体験者・非体験者間における共同的な想起場面の検討から、場所をめぐる想起、記憶の共有が確認される割合の高さに着目し、場所がもつ記憶の継承における働きを理解しようとするものである。本稿は、記憶の継承を体験者の記憶表象の単なる受け継ぎではなく、それを手がかりとして非体験者自らが過去の事象に接近しようとする行為と捉えることを前提とする。調査データが示した特徴は、場所を主題として共同的な想起が行われる傾向があること、場所の記憶を共有しながらも、その場所での行為については個別の想起がなされていること、体験者・非体験者ともに学習等を通じて知り得た情報を資源として共同的な想起の場面に参加していることの3点であった。また、これらの特徴は体験者・非体験者を問わないことも確認された。これらの検討を通じて、非体験者の体験性を支えるものとしての場所の機能とともに、共同的な想起場面における体験者・非体験者に共通する構造の一端を示すことを試みる。

Our society has focused on passing down memories of people who have experienced various events more than 75 years after the war, the Great East Japan Earthquake, and others. This paper aims to explain the function of sites when we pass on their memories to the next generation. In this study, the author analyzes the conversation between two survivors of the A-bomb and a person born after the war about peoples' lives in Hiroshima before the atomic bomb dropped. The results indicated that their conversation themes focused on the sites of this town before and after the atomic bombing. Thereafter, they developed their memories of their A-bomb experiences collectively, with this as a clue to go on. As written above, this paper shows the function of sites that facilitate collective remembrances of past events.
