The term "social computing" becomes a buzzword in the modern Web society. The reason of this phenomenon is that the word might suggest the paradigm shift of the modern society toward the new scheme of the intelligence creation. However, it is still unclear what dose the social computing mean. To clarify the appearance this paper first invenstigates what is social computing and it will be shown that computer science is an area of social computing. Then the problem of formulating the body of knowledge of social computing is discussed to figure out the entire schema of social computing
